On 17 November 2025, Ambassador Jestas Abuok Nyamanga paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Mark Pecsteen, the newly appointed Director for Africa at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Nyamanga congratulated him on his new role and provided an update on Tanzania’s latest political and economic developments.
Given Ambassador Pecsteen’s additional responsibilities as Belgium’s Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, the two also held a wide-ranging exchange on regional dynamics and ongoing peace and development efforts. Both reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation and advance the strong and growing relations between the United Republic of Tanzania and the Kingdom of Belgium.
