The United Republic of Tanzania and the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their relationship and cooperation, with the aim of promoting sustainable development and the prosperity of member states.

This was highlighted during an official reception held in honour of the OACPS Secretary-General, H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki, which brought together government officials from the United Republic of Tanzania and members of his OACPS delegation.

Speaking at the event held in Dar es Salaam on 21 July 2026, the Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Hon. Dr Bashiru Kakurwa (MP), stated that Tanzania values its partnership with the OACPS and will continue to work closely with the organisation to achieve shared development objectives.

Representing the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Amb. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Amb. Said Shaibu Mussa, said that Tanzania will continue to strengthen its diplomatic relations with the OACPS through international cooperation aimed at promoting solidarity, mutual understanding, and shared interests.

H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki expressed his appreciation to the Government of Tanzania for the warm reception and reaffirmed the OACPS’ commitment to further strengthening cooperation with member states in pursuit of shared development objectives.

H.E. Batraki is in Tanzania on an official working visit from 19 to 26 July 2026.
