On 26 June 2026, Ambassador Jestas Abuok Nyamanga visited the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Brussels to sign the Book of Condolences following the passing of His Excellency Francisco Guterres "Lu-Olo", former President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, on 21 June 2026.
On behalf of the Government and the People of the United Republic of Tanzania, Ambassador Nyamanga conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Government and the People of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste through the Embassy. He expressed Tanzania's solidarity with the people of Timor-Leste and wished them strength, comfort and fortitude as they mourn the loss of a distinguished statesman and one of the country's foremost leaders in its struggle for independence.
