Ambassador Jestas Abuok Nyamanga, on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, took part in a meeting organised by the European Parliament to discuss how the Mattei Plan, Italy’s flagship initiative to boost cooperation with Africa, can work hand in hand with the EU’s Global Gateway Initiative.

Tanzania is among the 14 priority countries identified by the Italian Government under the Mattei Plan, with several key areas earmarked for partnership, including value addition in agriculture, ICT development, digital transformation, and related sectors aimed at boosting economic growth and connectivity. 

On the sidelines of the meeting, Ambassador Nyamanga held constructive engagements with several Members of the European Parliament, including Hon. Antonella Sberna, Vice-President of the European Parliament, regarding other issues of mutual interest in the bilateral relations between Tanzania and EU.
